The Tampa Bay Buccaneers wasted no time making coach Bruce Arians a happy man by putting the franchise tag on linebacker Shaq Barrett.
The Bucs slapped the tag on Barrett signing him to a one year deal that will keep in Tampa while the Bucs work on a long term deal.
Barrett has said all along he Likes to Tampa and wants to be here for the long term.
Barrett will be paid at east 16 million dollars for the 2020 season.
Barrett led the NFL in sacks During the 2019 season with 19.5 which also set a new Buccaneer season record.
In another move, the Bucs re-signed linebacker Jason Pierre Paul to a two year 27 million dollar contract.

Paired with Devin White and Lavonte David, This trio of linebackers has the potential to one of the best groups in the league.
The Bucs still have some other players that they would like to offer contracts to.
These include defensive linemen Ndamukong Suh, offensive linemen Demar Dotson, running back Peyton Barber and receiver Breshad Perriman.
