Super Bowl 55 prediction

The Day Buccaneer fans have been waiting for 18 years is finally here. The Buccaneers are back in the Super Bowl for the second time in franchise history against the Kansas City Chiefs.

This will be the second meeting of these two teams this season. The Chiefs beat the Bucs 27-24 in their first meeting in late November.

This game was Thanksgiving weekend, right before the Bucs-bye week, and the Bucs have not lost since. The Bucs are 14-5 and are on a seven-game winning streak. The Chiefs come into the game with a 16-2 record and look for their second consecutive Super Bowl title.

The Chiefs built a 17-0 lead in that game after the first quarter. Tyreek Hill had 203 yards in the first quarter, and Patrick Mahomes passed the game with 464 passing yards.

Here’s the good news. After the Chiefs built the 17-0 lead, the Bucs outscored the Chiefs 24-10 in the final three quarters as Tom Brady passed for 313 yards and two touchdowns.

The Bucs defense also switched from a man to a zone, which helped contain the Chiefs passing attack the rest of the way.

The Bucs defense was missing Vita Vea in the middle of that defensive line during their November meeting. Vea spent most of the season recovering from a broken ankle.

He returned against the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship game and made his presence felt in a big way.

The Chiefs offensive line is missing their two starting offensive tackles, which gives the Bucs defense a considerable advantage.

Look for Leonard Fournette and Ronald Jones to keep the chains moving for the Bucs. This combo has averaged 115 yards a game in the post-season, while the Chiefs defense gives up 125 yards a game.

The Bucs defense has to play a zone against this offense as a steady diet of man to man against the Chiefs receivers will be a recipe for disaster.

Against these Chiefs receivers, you can only contain them. You will not stop them.

The Bucs front seven has to get pressure on Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes can beat with you his arm and legs. The Bucs need to keep Mahomes in the pocket and not let him scramble.

Most people are predicting a Chiefs win. Some even predicting a blowout win for the Chiefs.

Should Tom Brady wins this game, this will be his seventh Super Bowl Championship. That is more than any other franchise in the NFL.

Brady is already the greatest football player of all time. Another Super Bowl win would put Brady in the one name category with the greatest athletes of all time.

Micheal, Tiger, Gretzky, Lebron, and Brady.

Brady is already one of those athletes that have great appeal to the casual sports fan, and a win would further his status as one of the greatest athletes in sports history.

Here is how I see the individual units match up against each other.

Tom Brady vs. the Chiefs secondary, advantage Buccaneers.

Patrick Mahomes vs. the Bucs secondary, advantage Chiefs.

Leonard Fourtnette/Ronald Jones vs., the Chief’s front seven, advantage Buccaneers.

Damien Williams/Clyde Edwards Helaire vs. the Buccaneer defensive front seven, advantage Buccaneers.

Bucs offensive line vs. the Chiefs defensive line, advantage Buccaneers.

Chiefs offensive line vs. the Bucs defensive line, advantage Buccaneers.

Special teams play advantage Chiefs.

Linebackers, advantage Buccaneers

Secondary Even

This has the potential to be one of the best Super Bowl matchups in history. The GOAT Tom Brady versus Patrick Mahomes, the best quarterback of this generation.

This will be a close game, not a blowout, as many are predicting.

Many thought the Bucs would lose to Washington. Those same people predicted disaster for the Bucs against the Saints. Then those same people thought the Bucs would get destroyed by the Packers.

You don’t have to like the Buccaneers, but you do have to respect what the team has done this year and especially winning three challenging road games in the playoffs to get to Super Bowl 55.

When the clock reads 00:00, the cannons will fire, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be crowned Super Bowl Champions for the second time in franchise history.

Final score Buccaneers 31 Chiefs 28
